About Me

I'm Jamieson Jones, a third-year Mechatronics Engineering student at the University of Melbourne.

I'm part of the UniMelb Rover Team, where I work within the Arm subteam. I spent my first year on the mechanical side of Arm and have recently been moving toward the software side, learning Rust as part of a broader transition to help maintain and contribute to Arm's codebase.

My main technical interests are mechanical systems and embedded hardware, and I've been getting increasingly into control systems. That intersection of physical behaviour and the logic that governs it is what I find most engaging.

Beyond coursework and the rover team, I work with 3D printing for functional applications and want to develop further experience in CNC and design for manufacture. I have a star tracker project on the go, and a general interest in astronomy and atmospheric phenomena that feeds into some of what I build.
